3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 12)

Downs...

4. Sh*tting On Your Contenders

Swerve Strickland Keith Lee
AEW

This is the kind of stuff that WWE would take heat online for.

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland both pointed out that Private Party have been losing more matches than they've been winning. Outright stating facts that the boys haven't earned a Tag-Team Title shot but going ahead with matches anyway is...certainly a way to go about things.

Swerve and big Keith took a dump all over AEW's very own rankings system here. Being honest, that has become a bit of a running joke, and it's something Tony Khan should move on from as soon as humanly possible. Wrestling feuds are more exciting when they develop naturally rather than because some crummy rankings system says so.

This was a really ill-advised promo though, because it shone a spotlight on just how flaky Khan's contendership rankings can be. Did the champs really need to go out of their way to question why Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen want to wrestle them?
