3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 23 - Results & Review)

Ups...

3. Powerhouse Wrecks Shop Again

Powerhouse Hobbs Sammy Guevara
AEW

No, Sammy Guevara isn't convincing when he does the tough guy babyface act, but his promo on Rampage did pave the way for Powerhouse Hobbs to look like a killer. That's always fun, and you know this pair will have a decent match together. Hobbs has that "Meat Madness" thing going on though, so maybe not.

The segment was serviceable overall.

It's the kind of thing Rampage needs more of, and was certainly better than the awful backstage promos fans are routinely served. Powerhouse always shows good intensity when he's kicking the sh*t out of someone, and Sammy sold the attack like he'd been smacked by an 18-wheeler.

Yeah, serviceable would be the word. Fingers crossed Tony Khan doesn't forget all about this in a few weeks, 'cause there was enough here to suggest Sammy selling his butt off for Hobbs in a 20-minute match laced with spirited hope spots could be really, really good.
