3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 24)

Ups...

3. Tidy Little Match

Toni Storm
AEW

People, it finally happened: AEW's infamous picture-in-picture ad break garbage didn't totally ruin a short match. The two-three minute insert that hogs the screen couldn't stop Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale from delivering the goods on this week's episode of Rampage.

Good on you, ladies.

Storm worked her heel character better than she has since turning too. Yes, she still feels miscast and a little lost in the shuffle, but this was a solid performance. Meanwhile, Willow is surely waiting in the wings to become a breakout star later in 2023 - she's popular, energetic, has epic comebacks and could work longer matches with ease.

Hopefully, this will be a pay-per-view title showdown in the future, because both women worked so well together here. This guy could take or leave the spotlight-grabbing post-match shenanigans over the title scene, but Toni vs. Willow was super-watchable from start to finish and defied the usual commercial calamity.
