3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Fight For The Fallen (Aug 18)

1. Building It Slowly

Rey Fenix Komander
AEW

Arguably the best (and most surprising) thing about Fenix vs. Komander is that they didn't go hell for leather straight away. Both worked in some tasty chain wrestling spots early, then built on those foundations to drive towards a crescendo of high-flying that was extremely rewarding.

This is what good workers do, isn't it? They never rush, but instead take people on a journey through different styles and emotions before peaking at exactly the right moment. Good lord, is Fenix ever ready for a singles push around this place or what? The man's a stunning in-ring worker, and it's great to report that Komander matched him all the way.

Chain wrestling and some slower passages probs isn't what most folks expected when they sat down to watch this match, but it was honestly better for that tidy pacing. AEW handed these boys a decent chunk of time to work with, and they used it wisely without doing the Vikingo/Young Bucks thing by breezing through 10 spots every 2 minutes.

Wonderful stuff.
