3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Fight For The Fallen (Aug 18)

2. Just A Top Showcase

Rey Fenix Komander
AEW

Then, there was this cracker.

Rey Fenix vs. Komander was a fab match. It's one of the best bouts you're ever likely to see on Rampage, and is the kind Tony Khan should pop on there more often. In fairness, last week's show put a spotlight on the best bits about AEW's in-ring work too. More of this would be lovely. Thanks in advance.

Both masked men worked incredibly hard to tell a story as well, and their natural chemistry shone through the longer they wrestled. Komander was clearly influenced by Fenix before getting into the biz. Excalibur and Tony Schiavone did a good job of putting that across early, thus setting a friendly-but-competitive tone right off the bat.

Bonus points go to All Elite for showing Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli watching on from backstage. They'll of course tangle with Rey in that 'Stadium Stampede' match at Wembley Stadium, so it made sense to show them taking a keen interest in what Fenix is doing.
