3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 10)

Ups...

3. Reach For The Sky

Mark Briscoe
AEW

Mark Briscoe plans to launch a singles career following the sad passing of his brother Jay. The first time he wins gold on his own will be an emotional moment in a long run of many since his sibling tragically died, but it's coming. Stay tuned to ROH for that, and also for the match Mark announced on Friday.

He vacated the ROH Tag-Team Titles in a nice, heartfelt promo that built the "Reach For The Sky" ladder match at Supercard Of Honor later this month. There, AEW will crown brand new ROH Tag Champs. This speech was a slick way to get the belts off the remaining Briscoe and onto some new faces.

It was framed perfectly.

Mark deserves immense credit for holding things together and turning it into an exciting announcement too. Normally, wrestlers announcing matches for a later date plays before boos, but everyone in the arena was onboard with what he was going for.
