3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 26)

3. Well, That Looked Horrible!

Billy Gunn Preston Vance AEW
AEW

Sorry if this is nitpicking, but it stood out.

Preston Vance took a Fameasser from Billy Gunn during the opener. It looked great, but then Vance very obviously (and very slowly) shifted his entire body around so he'd be able to put a foot on the rope during the coming pinfall. Like, he stopped selling completely and moved into position for the next spot.

That looked so amateurish. Apologies, but it really, really did. Worse, the announcers went silent like they'd spotted how bad it looked, and then Chris Jericho tried to claim that Jose The Assistant was responsible for telling his man what to do. No, it was just sloppy work.

Look, everybody knows the deal with pro wrestling, so this isn't some commentary claiming Preston killed the business or anything melodramatic like that. Few will even remember this a few days from now, but it did look bad and deserves a mention.
