3 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 6)

2. A Fun Scramble, Despite Everything

SmackDown's five-man main event had its issues. As we've discussed, the booking that led to the clash was appalling, and there were a couple of slow sequences throughout, but for the most part, it was a fun, chaotic clusterf*** that wasn't totally destroyed by the clumsiness that brought it onto the show in the first place.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens provided the biggest talking point. The former 'Underdog From The Underground' met with his partner earlier in the evening, reiterating his intention to lay down for the former Universal Champion in the Fastlane main event. Unfortunately for KO, though, Sami went back on his word in the five-man scramble.

With Styles, Corbin, and Ziggler taken out of the picture, the opportunistic Zayn blasted Owens with a Helluva Kick, picking up the pinfall victory. Afterwards, he called himself the best wrestler in the company, adding that although he has been overlooked, he plans on taking AJ's title this weekend.

Another twist for the villainous duo, but while it's hard to know how to take them at the moment, it made for an effective match-ending swerve.
