As grim as the ongoing WWE Championship program has been, it did provide SmackDown's three biggest highlights this week, and Dolph Ziggler's in-ring promo segment with AJ Styles shone the brightest.

'The Phenomenal One' claimed he used to only care about himself, but becoming a two-time WWE Champion had changed his perspective. The journey to the title (and the struggle to hold onto it) was a grind, and though he pointed out the unfairness in Fastlane's six-pack challenge match, he doesn't plan on losing.

Styles then ran through John Cena's Raw promo and reiterated his desire to face Shinsuke Nakamura, and Shinsuke Nakamura alone at WrestleMania. Out came Dolph Ziggler, determined to rain on AJ's parade, and spoil that match by winning at Fastlane. "You can take your dream and shove it," he said, leading to their ill-fated singles bout.

Though nothing groundbreaking, both performers came off fiery and motivated. This was particularly important for Ziggler, whose character has felt so lifeless for so long, and while he doesn't have a hope in hell of winning at Fastlane, he had a productive night all round.
