3 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 6)

Ups...

3. Ziggler Shines... Again

Dolph Ziggler has been an unexpected SmackDown highlight since inking his new WWE contract earlier in the year, and it continued last night.

His upper-card clash with AJ Styles wasn't out of this world, but it was solid, and continued 'The Show-Off's' recent run of enjoyable TV bouts. The duo worked well together. Sure, it was a step or two below Styles' match with John Cena last week, but the WWE Champion looked great while fighting from beneath, and showed good back-and-forth chemistry with his opponent.

There was no winner, though. The clash went to a no contest when Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens hit the ring, prompting Ziggler and Styles to fight them off, before Shane McMahon arrived to book the main event. Had they been given an extra 3-5 minutes, perhaps AJ and Dolph could've forged something on-par with the Cena bout, but c'est la vie.

A solid TV outing from two of SD's top in-ring performers at the moment, despite the booking qualms.
