3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 4)

2. Heading In The Right Direction

Creative's handling of LA Knight has been rather up and down for the longest time now, but they got things right this week. Sheamus was also the right sort of rival for him, because high quality is the Irishman's thing, and the Brawling Brutes leader can take defeats without destroying his own credibility.

That's where Sheamus is at in 2023.

Being honest, yours truly still isn't sold on the need for this "SummerSlam Battle Royal" on the PLE, but it's hard to argue with it if WWE comes through for Knight. His star power is undeniable these days, and anything that gets him pushed pronto should be applauded.

Are WWE finally heading in the right direction with the one-time Max Dupri? Even Michael Cole has been acknowledging the favourable crowd responses Knight has been getting, and that must be considered another good sign for his push.
