3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 4)
1. Profit! Profit! Profit!
Christ! Fans in Ohio were right up for that union between Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits, weren't they? Keep an eye on that, 'cause the trio almost came across as big time babyfaces more than rebellious heels here. WWE will find it challenging to portray them as villains if that's how WWE crowds fancy receiving the trio.
Granted, Butch and Ridge Holland vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson was a waste of time as a match, but it was only on the show to facilitate this Street Profits attack in the first place. Besides, that post-bout angle definitely saved the day and gave the segment some oomph.
Angelo Dawkins, in particular, will really benefit from the fresh look he's been given. Getting some new threads must come as a relief after years of dressing like he had the public gym at 4, then planned to shoot some hoops with mates by 6.
This Hurt Business reprise (if it's even called that) is off to a hot start.
