3 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage: Black Friday (Nov 25)
2. Darius Martin Back In Action
It's great to see Darius Martin back flying around the ring after seven gruelling months out recuperating from a serious car accident. The dude also had to content with a long-term ACL tear in 2021, so he's been through the wars. That's a shame, because Darius (like Dante) is seriously talented.
He looked motivated to put on a show vs. FTR, and the reigning ROH Tag-Team Champs were only too happy to provide a solid base Darius could work around. This had to feel good for the guy after injuries and incidents that were both career and life-threatening.
The good vibes were flowing during that opener.
Jim Ross, in particular, was very complimentary towards Top Flight. He described them as a breakout team who should really take 2023 by storm - that excellent piece of comms is typical of JR, but it was unexpected considering the Martin brothers favour a spot-heavy style the legend doesn't traditionally like.
