3. Luchadores Take Down The Vision… With Help

The Vision has been running roughshod over WWE Raw’s stale main event scene for quite some time now, so it was nice to see them mix the formula up a bit Monday night.

With Bron Breakker suspended, Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, and Logan Paul wrestled the lucha trio of Penta, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio. Not surprisingly, the masked trio unveiled some triple teams and dives to keep The Vision off balance.

The match itself was fine, if a bit underwhelming when the heels were in control. However, the bout served more as a backdrop to Raw GM Adam Pearce’s growing involvement in The Vision’s affairs. While at ringside for the match, Pearce caught Theory wearing Paul’s brass knuckles and confiscated them. While arguing with Paul Heyman, he left the knucks on the apron, only for Rey to grab them and deck Theory, allowing Penta to finish him with a Mexican Destroyer.

The match and result were fine, but afterward, Heyman continued to press Pearce about his involvement, coordinating a phone call that seemingly prompted the Raw GM to invite Breakker to next week’s show for a conversation.

Authority figure storylines rarely work, but this one, so far, is a bit different and intriguing, so it gets passing marks. Also, good for the babyfaces not being so virtuous that they won’t use the heels’ own attempted chicanery against them.
