3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (July 11)

2. Lynch’s Meltdown Interrupted

Becky Lynch is guilty of overacting during her current story arc, but if the long-form story being told is what it seems to be, then it overall is working.

Lynch has been on a downslide recently, spiralling as she’s lost numerous big matches. But last week, she won a big one after losing at Money in the Bank. Big Time Becks defeated Asuka last week, and Monday, she came out gloating and talking about how she deserved to be the #1 contender on the basis of that win alone.

Her weeks-long meltdown has been paused as she basks in the glory of one win – albeit a big one – and she demanded a match against the Raw Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. The false bravado was oozing from Lynch, as she went so far as to cost Bianca Belair her match against Carmella Monday night.

All of this should set Becky up to lose again at SummerSlam, just to drop her further down into her crater, before she can finally begin to dig herself out.
