3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (7 Feb)

3. Naomi Takes The Fall

Well, this was stupid.

Naomi only just returned to a nice big reception at the Royal Rumble and laid out a challenge to Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Title on last week's show. Now, she's been crapped on from a quite dizzying height by writers who should be protecting her babyface star power instead of letting her take the fall in multi-woman matches.

Presumably, Dana Brooke kicked up a Sasha Banks-like fuss and refused to do the job. Only kidding, but there has to be some explanation for why Naomi and not Dana was chosen to take Carmella's pin; it didn't even make 'Mella look more impressive, especially because her win looked opportunist rather than definitive.

Remember this result should WWE try to push Naomi into the challenger spot at Elimination Chamber on 8 March. They've ruined any chance of that being credible with this main event. What a poor piece of decision making from a creative team who should know better.
