3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 24)

3. Was This Supposed To Help Him?

Yuck.

Look, LA Knight losing to Kofi Kingston wouldn't be a big deal under different circumstances. However, Knight just excelled against the odds in a mini-feud with Bray Wyatt, and he badly needed some momentum after losing at Royal Rumble. WWE, for some reason, hasn't given him any.

In fact, he's starting to go backwards again already. LA talked some smack with New Day, accepted a match with Kofi, then stared at the lights without much fuss. The match wasn't bad by any means (Kingston can work solid bouts in his sleep), but the booking was suspect at best and downright crazy when one properly thinks about it.

Where does Knight go from here? Is he on one of those dreaded losing streak gimmicks WWE dusts off when they can't think of anything else for a midcarder? Christ, would it have killed creative to give the dude a win here?! It's not like Kofi needed one himself.
