3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 24)
2. Hmm
Here's the deal: Bray Wyatt's supernatural stuff only really lands when he has a feud people are interested in seeing to discuss. This coming showdown with Bobby Lashley lacks the fresh feel of his side quest vs. LA Knight, and it'll be a tough sell considering both guys are on different brands anyway.
There's also the not-so-small matter of Brock Lesnar. He was a bigger marquee opponent for Bray at WrestleMania than Lashley, and everyone knows it. Besides, who's supposed to be the babyface and heel here? The whole thing smacks of creative indifference and, 'Oh, we have to get these lads on 'Mania!'.
Granted, Wyatt debuted a brand new mask on 'Firefly Fun House', but there's a real try-hard aura suppressing his character right now. Again, Bray vs. Bobby Lashley has forgettable midcard throwaway written all over it in April.
Fingers crossed that isn't the case and the build improves mightily from here.
