3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 25)

2. This Was The Best They Came Up With?!

Ricochet Los Lotharios Angel Humberto

Ricochet just lost to two members of a lower-card tag-team in less than 10 minutes. Seriously, he dropped back-to-back matches to Angel and Humberto via rollup and count out respectively. This is your new Intercontinental Champion, folks!

If WWE could stop booking singles guys in tag angles and proper tag-teams in singles sh*t, that'd be awesome. There's zero desire from fans to see Rico defend the IC prize against Los Lotharios, which renders next week's already-announced Triple Threat defunct before it even gets started.

What is going on here?

Ricochet is a stone's throw away from plummeting off a creative cliff with that once-proud title. Someone in creative believed this (this!) was the best use of minutes for him on this week's SmackDown. Somehow, Rico looks weaker as champ than he did before winning the thing. Great.
