3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 25)
1. A Weak Match Lineup
The general match quality this week was really, really low. Sure, the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Jimmy Uso tried (more on that to come), but WWE phoned the show's lineup in. SmackDown was an angle/promo-heavy broadcast, and only one of those angles ended up being worth a toss.
That's...not good enough.
Filler weeks happen on a schedule as bloated as WWE's, but they need to put in some effort when piecing together match cards. WWE also need to have a right good think about the way they mishandle some talents; King Woods could've carried Ridge Holland to a solid encounter instead of working 45 seconds, for example.
Ricochet is far too skilled to be working short matches against Angel and Humberto too. Both of those should've been bangers, and yet they were more angle than match. Everything just felt so meh, and it's WrestleMania 38 next week. Hmm.
