2. Hot In The Building

As a match, there really isn’t much great to say about Baron Corbin versus Trick Williams for the United States Championship at Sunday Night’s Main Event. If you saw their SummerSlam contest, then you knew what you were getting in Atlanta.

However, the fans were dialed in for much of the bout, rallying behind Trick and getting on Corbin’s case throughout. This was really evident down the stretch after a double-down that fed into a “boo/yay” exchange, a back suplex that got turned into a Williams neckbreaker, and a Trick Shot that got countered with a Deep Six. When Baron attempted to use the title and Trick nailed a cyclone boot for a close two count, fans came out of their seats.

They erupted when Williams flipped out of an End of Days, hit the ropes, and nailed the Trick Shot for the win and the US Title. That energy really carried this match nicely, making for a much more enjoyable outcome than what we got at SummerSlam.

With Trick, you know you’re not going to get an in-ring classic, but his innate charisma bleeds through the screen, and when you pair that with a hot crowd that’s amped for a title change, you’ve got a winner, regardless of the number of stars the match itself earns.
