7. Good Thing That Trophy Was There

Wrestling Fans accept a lot of silliness to allow for their enjoyment of the product. We accept that Irish whips can cause someone to run the ropes forever. We accept Wee Man can bodyslam Sami Zayn. We accept that Stratusfaction is 100% performed by Trish Stratus herself and totally not aided by her opponent lifting her up to spring off the ropes.

But we can’t accept logic gaps like props “fortunately” showing up at the right time to coincide with a wrestler’s unplanned appearance ringside.

Bobby Lashley was cutting a backstage promo and was interrupted by Bronson Reed, who poked at him and promised to get revenge for eliminating him from the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. So far, so good. Then Mustafa Ali showed up with his goofy Positive-Ali gimmick, which led to Lashley battering him all the way to ringside for an impromptu match.

Seconds later, Lashley won and climbed onto the turnbuckle to celebrate and point to… the Andre trophy, which magically was already at ringside. There literally were less than two minutes from the start of the brawl to the finish of the match, nowhere near enough time to fish out the trophy and race it to the ring, which means it was already there.

So at least we know someone in the WWE props department is winning the Powerball this week.
