3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 7)

6. Sledgehammer Of Plot Strikes

Sheamus Drew McIntyre

Ever since the budding onscreen friendship between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre took centerstage, it was obvious to anyone with a pulse that the Celtic Warrior eventually would turn on the WWE Champion in pursuit of the title.

WWE went so far as to have Keith Lee serve as the voice of the audience, blatantly asking Sheamus when he was going to turn on his friend. So WWE clearly wasn’t trying to ignore the likelihood, which is fine because it means that everyone is singing from the same hymnal.

But that wasn’t good enough for the writers, who decided that we needed to add in their favorite trope, tag partners who can’t get along or trust each other, as Sheamus “inadvertently” hit a Brogue Kick on McIntyre while aiming for John Morrison. So now in addition to everyone else doubting Sheamus, now McIntyre can too, even if they seemingly shrugged it off on Monday.

Just a couple of steps too far once again.
