3 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 29)

1. Shotzi’s Logic

Shotzi Sasha Banks

Shotzi's vicious attack on Sasha Banks worked despite her aforementioned hiccups against Charlotte Flair. The best villains feel justified in their actions (rightly or wrongly), and Shotzi can point to Sasha jumping up onto the apron for no reason as vindication for her behaviour.

It's not like Banks is 100% babyface in her approach anyway. Having some shades of grey for some select workers isn't a bad idea; it sounds so clichéd, sure, but having multiple layers to a few personalities in that women's division would be a step forwards. They don't all need to be catty bitches or inspiring (often easily-manipulated) heroines, y'know.

Although it remains to be seen how much faith WWE will put in Shotzi, she deserves a chance. This division badly needed fresh blood, and she has the personality to click with fans. Those matches might need to come up a step mind, but turning the newbie heel will maybe help her take charge more in-ring.

Fingers crossed.
