3 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (April 5)

5. Not Exactly A Selling Point

Omos AJ Styles The New Day

Omos is a beast, stronger than Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods combined. Last week’s display of strength was a great way to put that over, and show that New Day’s tag titles are in jeopardy at WrestleMania 37.

Monday’s effort, which was presumably to show Omos’ weak spot – his lack of experience – instead showed that he’s dumb, and former world champion AJ Styles is a goof. Seconds into Woods’ match against Styles, Kofi threw a mic at Omos, goading him into chasing him onto the apron. This distracted AJ, who had Xavier in a Calf Crusher, and then he immediately got rolled up in a match that didn’t even last 90 seconds.

Keep in mind, this is how WWE writers decided to show us viewers that New Day can “outsmart” Omos to overcome his strength advantage: have the colossal superstar get on the apron for a pseudo-distraction, and Styles getting rolled up like a jobber.
