3 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 21)

3. NXT Champ To Chump

Keith Lee

What the hell is going with Keith Lee?

The former NXT Champion came up to Raw and defeated Randy Orton right out of the gate and looked like he was destined for good things. And then the wheels fell off.

Lee entered a #1 contender’s match, which he lost (without getting pinned). Then Orton RKO’d Lee, only for Drew McIntyre to cause a DQ before the match finished. And now, the past two matches between Lee and McIntyre have ended via DQ (one from RETRIBUTION, one from Orton). Oh, and Orton nailed a punt on the Limitless One Monday night for good measure.

Seriously, came in breathing fire, and now he’s sputtering out as a third wheel in a world title feud where he’s on the outside looking in. Throw in some horrendously generic intro music to ensure that whenever fans return to WWE that they can’t chant along “Oh, bask in his glory!” and you have a recipe for a wasted first month.
