11. Shark Attack

It might finally be time to put a bullet in the 24/7 Championship.

For the longest time, the modern-day version of the Hardcore Championship has been a source of entertainment on a Raw program that has been starved of it. It has produced some legit laugh-out-loud moments. And it’s had its share of groaners too.

Monday, R-Truth visited the beach with the 24/7 title and Little Jimmy. Akira Tozawa also was there, “hiding” in the ocean to sneak up on Truth. But then, a shark showed up. Truth fled, dropping the title in the surf. He returned later to retrieve it, and then found Akira’s ninja gear all ripped up. He bellowed to Little Jimmy, “Tozawa got devoured.”

And that was it. It wasn’t even remotely entertaining, and even Tom Phillips acknowledged that by simply and awkwardly welcoming people back to Raw. It just feels like WWE has run out of fun ideas, as the lame segments now outnumber the entertaining ones. If they can’t get things together, then it might be time to bury the 24/7 Championship.
