People within WWE are hopeful that 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin will appear on next week's Raw.

The date - 16 March (3/16) - likely has something to do with it.

“There have been conversations that… I don’t want to say WWE has invited Steve Austin to Raw next Monday night on 3/16 in San Antonio, Texas, but there are people who work for the company that are very hopeful Stone Cold Steve Austin will be on that Monday Night Raw.“

Austin's last live WWE appearance came on the second night of WrestleMania 41 (20 April). There, 'Stone Cold' officially announced the event's attendance after an eventful ring entrance that first saw him accidentally miss the side ramp on his ATV, then collide with the barricade at ringside, causing an attendee to fall.

The 61-year-old also appeared on WM 41's first night, as part of the WWE Hall of Fame induction segment. His iconic 'Mania 13 match with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart entered the WWE HOF as the inaugural entry in the new Immortal Moments category.

WWE has previously marketed 16 March as '3:16 Day'. Austin's last Raw appearance came on 2020's incarnation of the event, where he hit Byron Saxton with a Stone Cold Stunner.

If 'Stone Cold' is confirmed for next week's Raw, WWE may opt to advertise this in advance to boost interest in the show, potentially increasing viewership and attendance. WrestleTix's last count (27 February) had the 16 March Raw at 8,673 tickets distributed from 9,875 available at the time.
