WWE Star Had A Literal Dream About Being Released... And Everybody Fell For It (WWE News)

Panic over! This fledgling WWE star hasn't actually been released from her contract.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp recently confirmed that Tyra Mae Steele has not been released from her deal with WWE. The LFG and Evolve worker caused a bit of a stir on social media by posting a quirky message about winning Olympic gold medals then being fired by TKO/WWE because she "went behind their back".

It turns out that she was just posting about a "nightmare/dream" she had whilst sleeping.

Mae Steele included a poll option at the bottom of her post on X, but a fair number of fans ran with the idea that she'd been callously tossed aside by the market leader. That was never the case. Perhaps some should've clicked when Tyra noted that she'd been promoted to flagship brand Raw in the dream.

Anyone who watches the current product across all of WWE's brands knows that hasn't happened. Mae Steele hasn't been teased on episodes of Raw, and she definitely hasn't shown up on screen as part of Adam Pearce's revamped roster.

Panic over then.

Mae Steele did win Olympic gold as a freestyle wrestler in 2021, but that was before she'd signed any sort of agreement with WWE. It's likely that Tyra didn't know she'd cause such a ruckus with her post - she was simply sharing something she found interesting.

Fightful moved quickly to establish that Mae Steele was still under contract. She is, and last wrestled Kendal Grey for the Evolve Women's Title on a show in late February. There's more to come from her, hopefully. Again, panic over!
