3 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Dec 6)
1. Rematch Pause
Prior to the main event, Alexa Bliss came out for what was supposed to be her championship celebration. At TLC, she scored the win in a tables match with Becky Lynch, and thereby captured the Smackdown Women's Championship. She had earned the right to celebrate.
She didn't get more than a couple of sentences into her speech before she was interrupted by Becky, who angrily came out to the ring. Normally, I'm a huge fan of the interplay between Becky and Bliss, especially on the microphone. While their back and forth here was good, it was nothing new, and they've done a lot better in the past.
Long story short, Bliss bragged about being the new face of the Smackdown women's division (so six people), Becky said that was a sad state of affairs, and then, the former champion demanded a rematch. Bliss acted like she was game, then rolled out of the ring. That bit of the segment was particularly uninspired, and after 100 minutes of nonsense, not appreciated. Sure, they couldn't do a match, but something less trite would have worked.
