30 Best WWE Photos Of 2016

4. An Uncomfortable Landing

In 2016 Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair made history by competing in the first ever women's Hell in a Cell match, competing in the main event of the eponymous pay-per-view in the process. Flair came out on top in the end, but both women confirmed their names in the record books as a result.

The match was hurt somewhat by an overly-long injury spot to begin with, a spot that began with Banks being brutally driven through a table by Flair. In what may be the most perfectly timed photograph in wrestling all year the photographer managed to capture the exact moment Banks collapses through the table, the impact of which almost comes through the pixels.

This was the most impressive action shot in WWE all year.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
