Bill Goldberg's 2016/17 WWE return was perfect because it wasn't the WWE version of Bill Goldberg.

One of the most criminal botches of a non-company creation following WCW's 2001 collapse, Goldberg was a square peg in a round hole during his original 2003/04 stint. No such ludicrous compromises were needed for round two. Like a fews weeks of Nitro stretched between Survivor Series and WrestleMania, Goldberg came, conquered, crumbled and left. None of it could have occurred without the shock and awe of his incredible and improbable squash win over a seemingly unstoppable 'Beast'.
