The 1992 Rumble was, much like this year's match, for the WWF Title, which was previously vacated after two controversial finishes between The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan. The win eventually went to Ric Flair, who entered at #3 and lasted more than an hour before eliminating Sid to capture the title. Almost as WTF as seeing the title decided in the Rumble was the circumstances of Sid's elimination: he managed to get the sneak on Hogan and hurl him over the top rope, and a sour Hogan than grabbed hold of Sid's arm, helping pull him out and get Flair the win. After Hogan basically did the same turn on Savage in 1989, it's surprising that they booked Hogan to perform such a blatant heel move, when Sid had every right to be mad at Hogan. Controversy aside, it was a thrilling moment and totally aided by Bobby Heenan's outrageous commentary, doing a fantastic job of selling Flair's gutsy endurance throughout the match.
