An awful lot of fans out there would call ‘Mania X-Seven the best WrestleMania ever. They’re entitled to that opinion, but re-watching the event now tells a different story. WWE has refined the ‘Mania formula by spreading it across multiple nights, and it’s hard to argue with recent crackers like ‘Mania 39 or 40.

XXX might’ve been better than X-Seven too.

What an event though. This was peak WWF 'Attitude' goodness. The huge stage set, the build towards Rock vs. Austin's 'Mania sequel, that Limp Bizkit video package, TLC II. Christ, everything came together and the federation seemed unstoppable. However, recency bias or not, WWE's latest string of 'Mania supercards do rival anything X-Seven has to offer.
