28. In Your House Overstayed Its Welcome

Vince McMahon introduced the colourful In Your House concept way back in the not-so-halcyon days of May 1995, but the In Your House branding for secondary pay-per-views didn’t actually vanish until Backlash ’99. Being honest, it should’ve been scrapped as soon as WWF went ‘Attitude’ in late-1997.

The company had started moving away from IYH as early as Ground Zero in September '97. That's when event names took centre stage above the budget price branding. Looking back, it's rather odd to see shows like Over The Edge, Fully Loaded and St. Valentine's Day Massacre (in February 1999!) continue with the In Your House subtitle.

It felt like a relic from the WWF's cartoonish past.
