TJ Perkins stands tall, the new Cruiserweight Championship around his waist, having won the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

The CWC was a pleasant distraction from Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT, and quickly became home to some of the most compelling action on the WWE Network.

The tournament saw the emergence of several international indie stars on a grander stage, including Kota Ibushi, Zack Sabre Jr., Gran Metalik, and Noam Dar. It also brought back beloved old favourites Tajiri and 'The' Brian Kendrick, but the tournament belonged to TJ Perkins when all was said and done. The Filipino-American defeated Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik in a single night to win not only the tournament, but the new incarnation of the Cruiserweight Championship as well.
