It seems obvious that Rusev is going to drop the US Title to John Cena at WrestleMania. Assuming that happens, WWE has to do something soon after to keep Rusev's heat strong. The Money in the Bank PPV takes place on June 14. It's the perfect spot for Rusev to get his momentum back by winning the MITB match, carrying around the coveted briefcase that is more valuable than a secondary title and usually means the holder is the next WWE Champion. Rusev winning Money in the Bank would do a lot for his career. He's a talented performer that's a star on the rise and has had a great first year in WWE. Instead of watching him languish in the midcard for years, WWE has to push him to the top. Giving Rusev the Money in the Bank briefcase is a smart move that would benefit his career greatly. They also definitely need to keep Lana with him because she's such a great heat magnet that only adds to his persona.
