Throw in annoying amounts of positivity, grating mic skills, nausea-inducing catchphrases and an impressive background, and what do you get? The answer to that question could just as easily be Bo Dallas as it could be Kurt Angle.

When Angle made his WWF bow in 1999, he was the all-American grappler who saw himself as the ultimate babyface but who the fans just wanted to boo. Bring it forward to the modern-day and Bo Dallas is doing the exact same thing. Whereas Angle had “It’s true, it’s true” and his three I’s, Dallas has his whole “Bo-lieve” shtick. For Angle’s legitimate amateur Olympic background, Bo has the genetics of the Windhams and Rotundas on his side.

Now Bo Dallas is no Kurt Angle when it comes to in-ring action – hell, very few people are – but his formative days on the WWE roster certainly owe just a little to the exploits of Kurt Angle during his WWF debut year.
