For those who weren’t watching the wrestling products of the late-‘90s, it’s hard to explain how revolutionary Rey was. In its simplest form, it was a guy doing things that you had literally never, ever seen before and barely thought would be possible.

Now granted, Kalisto is nowhere near at the level of Rey in his prime yet – maybe he never will be – but he is certainly a high impact, entertaining, innovative talent who I’m sure Vince McMahon is looking at and getting tight in the pants at the thought of the merchandise money he could bring in.

Ever since Mysterio was starting to pick up regular injuries during his later years with the WWE, the higher-ups have been looking at a Rey replacement – i.e. someone with amazing athleticism and somebody who could shift a load of copycat masks. Enter, Mistico. Exit, Mistico. With that experiment falling flat on its face (often literally), the attention has been switched to the miniscule Kalisto.

As such, expect to see huge things from this little Lucha Dragon over the next few years.
