38 Wrestlers Who Died In 2025
19. Frank Holtz (22 May)
A veteran WWWF grappler throughout the sixties and seventies, Frank Holtz passed away in his home state of Pennsylvania on 22 May, a pitiful two weeks after his 85th birthday.
Dubbed 'The Fighting Cop', Holtz was a police officer by trade, and retired after 25 years of service in 1990 as the Chief of Police in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Breaking into the prosperous pro wrestling circuit in 1960, he secured a preliminary spot working under Vincent J. McMahon, and put over the likes of Johnny Rodz, George 'The Animal' Steele, Captain Lou Albano, Gorilla Monsoon, and Killer Kowalski.
Holtz's last recorded match was a draw in August 1979 against the famed WrestleMania 1 goober, Special Delivery Jones.
