38 Wrestlers Who Died In 2025
32. Ciclón Ramirez (4 March)
Ciclón Ramirez, a fearless Mexican luchador, died of a heart attack on 4 March, aged 63.
Born Celso Reyes Daza, Ramirez got his start in the industry in 1982, first wrestling under the aliases of Ovni and Pegaso I, but it was in 1988 that he got his break, becoming Ciclón Ramirez and gaining a fictional brother in the late Huracán Ramirez, the inventor of the Hurricanrana. In the ring, Ramirez's greatest success came when he held the prestigious Mexican National Welterweight Title for 430 days, while a subsequent run paired with Águila Solitaria and Pantera as Las Saetas del Ring - Spanish for The Arrows of the Ring - saw the dazzling trio capture multiple trios straps.
His final match came in August 2024: there, he partnered with Mascara Sagrada NG and El Hijo del Fishman against Emperador Azteca, Pirata Morgan, and Hijo del Pirata Morgan. His son, the suitably named Ciclón Ramirez, Jr., carries on his father's legacy on the Mexican independent circuit.
