Steadfast independent standout Australian Suicide died of a cardiac arrest on 4 March, having taken two significant blows to the head in the space of a few weeks. He was just 32 years old, and left behind his wife, AAA's Vanilla Vargas, and their young daughter.

Born Broderick Shepherd in Melbourne, Australia, he toured the Australian independents for seven years before he got signed to Mexico's AAA, having undertaken further seasoning with Lance Storm at his Storm Wrestling Academy. He subsequently spent seven years as a bulwark of AAA, winning their World Cruiserweight Title, and debuting for both AEW and the then-IMPACT Wrestling through their partnerships with the Joaquín Roldán-backed company.

Following his death, Australian Suicide's wife posted a plea to raise funds to have her husband's body flown back to Australia to begin official burial proceedings.
