4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 19 - Results & Review)

2. Telegraphed Finish

WWE Raw Jey Uso Jimmy Uso

The minute the Bloodline showed up during the opening match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, the finish of the Intercontinental Championship main event was blatantly obvious.

It’s a shame, because the interference costing Cody his match was really well done, but it completely undercut Jimmy Uso distracting his brother Jey in his match against Gunther. The second the bell started ringing after Jey’s splash and the camera panned over to a hooded figure, it just a matter of waiting for Jimmy to reveal his goofy grin.

Worse, Jimmy’s prolonged beatdown of Jey raised a bigger question: Where in the hell was the New Day? Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods clearly were there, as they cut a backstage promo on Imperium just before the main event and even gave Jey a shout-out. If they’re virtuous babyfaces, why weren’t they charging out to at least chase Jimmy off after the initial post-match beatdown.

Instead, Jimmy had time to hit two splashes, bookending a video replay of his bell-ringing. That was not very well thought out.
