4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 19 - Results & Review)

3. Back On The Winning Track

After struggling to pick up victories for a while and seemingly fading to the background, Chad Gable finally took a big step forward Monday night.

Gable knocked off Ivar, the scourge of the Alpha Academy, tapping him out with an ankle lock after overcoming the Viking Raider’s physical assault. It marked Gable’s first singles win since August, when he was embroiled in a feud with Gunther and Imperium. Since then, he’s lost to the likes of Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura and Ivar.

If WWE is planning to build the former Olympian back up for a possible WrestleMania 40 match against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship, it would start with him overcoming the men who defeated him in recent months, working his way back to the Ring General.

Monday’s match wasn’t jaw-dropping, but it was entertaining, had the fans behind him, and had the right result. It was a good sign for fans who have wanted this rematch on the grandest stage of them all.
