4 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (Jan 21)

3. Jade Cargill Continues To Improve

TBS Champ Jade Cargill has been flirting with some babyface vibes lately. There's a reason why AEW cameras keep catching her daughter looking all proud in the crowd. Let's be real here, pro wrestling companies don't do that unless they're going for the sympathy/proud mother vote.

Is it too soon for Jade? Who knows? She's 25-0 after beating Anna Jay to defend her title on Rampage, and the match itself was another step forwards. Cargill and Jay struggled through a few rough spots here or there, but they got a decent amount of time and Anna was a credible challenger after her recent work.

This was perfectly fine.

Main-eventing the show is a real show of faith from Tony Khan in both women too. The power vs. determination story they laced the bout with also gave it a uniqueness on the three match card that was appreciated.
