4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec. 13)

3. Theory Gets Under Finn’s Skin

You would’ve thought a tag match involving the Dirty Dawgs and Finn Balor & Damian Priest would have had a bit more to it, but we quickly learned Monday night that it was an angle masquerading as a match.

The bout broke down and then settled into Balor getting the upper hand on Dolph Ziggler. But as Finn climbed the turnbuckle for a Coup de Grace, Austin Theory jumped up on the apron right next to him to take a selfie. This prompted Finn to jump down and knock him off the apron, which in turn allowed Dolph to nail a Zig-Zag for the win(!).

As deplorable as a distraction finish is, this one actually worked, with Theory close enough to Balor to impact the match, and not nebulously on the apron 15 feet away while Finn was going for a cover. This presumably will lead to a match between Austin and Finn sometime soon, which could be really good.
