4 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Raw (June 14)

3. MVP Continues Sales Pitch

Now, it might not go anywhere, but for the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen MVP do his best to convert Kofi Kingston and turn him against his friends.

MVP has made the case that Kofi’s success ended and he just meekly went back to being in a tag team because he was complacent and was letting his partners hold him back. On Monday, the manager said KofiMania was dead and buried, that Kingston was wasting his career in tag teams where he was a loser, even if he didn’t get pinned.

But Kofi once again didn’t take the bait, saying that he reached the mountaintop because of his partners and their support, not in spite of them.

However, you’ve got to imagine this is leading somewhere, to a point when Kingston finally tires of being in what is fast becoming a middling tag team and decides to strike out on his own. If and when that happens, it could be a beautiful thing.

Until then, we’ll see if WWE can continue to do subtle.
