4. Grand Larceny Rewarded

So after Vince McMahon spent 24+ hours venting about his priceless golden egg and how he was going to fire the authority figures if it wasn’t retrieved, they tracked down the culprit, and he was… rewarded with a WWE Championship match.

Adam Pearce and Sami Zayn determined it was Austin Theory who had absconded with the egg Sunday night and brought him to Raw to confess. Theory said he wanted to take a selfie with the egg, but all the security made it difficult, so he took it back to his hotel.

Vince somehow interpreted this act – which he had called a personal insult to him just an hour earlier – as reminding him of himself, so he dropped charges and gave the title shot to Austin, not Sami.

There’s literally no storyline logic to that, unless part of the narrative is that Vince is insane. So apparently that’s the verdict: Vince has lost his mind and is just making decisions on a whim both in storyline and in real life.
