4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 22)

1. This Didn’t Hit

Dralistico El Hijo del Vikingo AEW

OK, so this might be controversial.

Wrestling is all about variety, sure, but that AAA Mega Title match was a miss for this fan personally. Dralistico vs. El Hijo del Vikingo was a series of spots with nothing to really tie them together; both guys gave selling a miss apart from when they were stalling mid-pic-in-pic ad break, and they shook off moves like a Destroyer on the ring apron like it was a chop to the chest.

Fans were polite throughout, and that's more than Tony Khan deserves for chucking this sort of fare out there on AEW programming without bothering to explain why anyone should give a damn. As the intro said, there's first party All Elite content that TK should be booking in this position on programming instead.

Want something else that won't be popular? You got it. Vikingo takes some frankly stupid bumps too, being brutally frank. That’d be fine if they were all given room to breathe, but they aren’t - he’s up and raring to go again seconds later like nothing happened, so it all comes across as pointless.
