4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 22)

Ups...

4. Improving All The Time

Julia Hart Kiera Hogan
AEW

Now, the positives.

Julia Hart vs. Kiera Hogan might not come pre-packed with the social media gushing Dralistico vs. Vikingo will, but it was a much better match that actually developed someone's character and told a story. Hart was the focal point here, and she nailed her spooky bitch facial expressions in between selling Hogan's snappy flurries.

Put it this way: AEW top brass were rewarded for sticking by Julia and not giving up on her after that slightly awkward (at points) main event vs. Anna Jay a while back. That was a pressure spot for both women, and they didn't deliver, but this week's Rampage got it right.

Julia and Kiera had just enough time to tell a story, but not too much time that they couldn't fill it. Neat work from JR on commentary too - he put over Hart's bright future like a boss, then AEW closed the segment with a pull apart brawl between Julia and Jay.
